Mayto and Tehuamixtle

MAYTO:
By car from Puerto Vallarta , take Federal Highway 200, which connects all the towns along the Jalisco coast. After 43 kilometers, you’ll reach El Tuito. There, look for the turnoff to Llano Grande de Ipala and take it. Continue on that road, passing Rancho Los Conejos, until you reach Mayto.
Mayto offers a great opportunity to enjoy a beautiful, wild, and peaceful spot. Its wide beach of fine golden sand and the deep blue of the sea will make you feel like you’re in paradise. If you have the chance to witness the sunrise or sunset, you’ll be treated to a truly majestic scene.
Discover Lover’s Beach
Lover’s Beach is a secluded spot nestled between two verdant hills, creating a feeling of complete privacy. Black rocks rise from the sea, completing a breathtaking landscape. You’ll never want to leave.

Sea Turtle Conservation: The Campamento Tortuguero Mayto is one of the most important in Mexico.
Nesting Season: May to September is the peak time for nesting.
Baby Turtle Release: Visitors can often participate in releasing hatchlings into the ocean, typically in the late afternoon.

TEHUAMIXTLE:
Tehuamixtle, locally known as “Tehua,” is an authentic fishing village and beach tucked away in the Cabo Corrientes municipality of Jalisco, Mexico. It is a popular day trip for those wanting to escape the more crowded areas of Puerto Vallarta, offering a serene atmosphere with turquoise waters and a reputation for some of the best seafood in the region.
Feast on Giant Oysters: This is the village’s main claim to fame. You can watch them being shucked fresh from the harbor and served raw, grilled, or fried.
